True to form, France have been underwhelming. Sitting deep, creating little, hoping for the counter. Croatia have been far, far better. Creative in the middle of the park. Fast on the break. 1 own goal & a poor, poor VAR decision is all that’s in it

Despite two good goals France’s best player was Néstor Pitana. The game pivoted on a woeful penalty decision that robbed the better team. But football isn’t fair & France ground out the win. At least French kids got to see a proper midfield – in red & white.
